I’m super busy at Teater Sesam at the moment as designer/sculptor/puppetbuilder on their production of the Hunchback of Notre-Dame. I can’t believe it’s our eleventh show together since 2006! Anyhow that’s why I’ve been tumblr-mute for a while. Sorry. I still have a month to go in Gothenburg before I’m finished so I might be off grid for a while longer still.Sesam updates with some behind the scenes material along the way and you can check out their earlier shows here: http://teatersesam.se/
Catch you later!
(I love the fact I was wearing muppets when the photo was taken <3)

Oh my goodness, I don’t even know what it’s called when you get fan mail from someone you are a fan of!?!! Reversed Reciprocal Emboldenment? Echo of Awesomeness? Let’s call it kinship! Or why not freindship :)Anyhow: I JUST GOT A LETTER FROM EMILY GRASLIE OF THE BRAIN SCOOP!!! It was full of terribly nice words too! She loves my work! It’s insane! I can’t believe it!I’m euphoric. My cat is a bit suspicious of Soon Raccoon though…

vigilanted asked:

“Do you do your artwork mostly from references or purely imagination? Theyre extremely impressive!”

Hi Vigilanted! Thanx!
It depends on what you mean by reference. I very rarely draw from a single photo. Sometimes I have to use reference, for likeness of a person or a species and such. If so I prefer to find video or as much photos as possible to understand the subject.
However, I make a point of seeing. Looking at reality, visiting museum, ransacking libraries, watching documentaries… Just paying attention to the visuality of stuff. Filling my brain with thousands of impressions will eventually make whatever I imagine feel a bit more real.
One of the things I like most is to watch as something new and surprising emerge on the empty paper in front of me :)
